Pacific Dulse (Palmaria mollis):

Pacific Dulse is a kind of red algae frequently found growing in the intertidal zones in the Northern Pacific & Northern Atlantic. It is well known for its reddish purple colour. When dried, it allegedly tastes similar to bacon.

Giant Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera):

Giant Kelp is a species of brown kelp native to the Pacific. It is often associated with temperate kelp forests. It is not a true plant; it is a protist, specifically a heterokont. Individuals may grow as long as 150 feet.  They are well known for their beauty, ecological importance, & culinary uses.
